FiveFive is located in Lyon, one of the most dynamic city in France. Surrounded by an active network of research lab and some of the best European universities, FiveFive is growing up in in a very fertile environment.
Lighting design has become an essential element of entertainment shows, retail environments or to enhance the appearance of the buildings and monuments of our cities.
Amazing color schemes, dynamic effects changing the appearance of a venue according to the event it hosts, concerts where music and light dance in harmony, lighting has left its purely functional role to enter a new era.
Thanks to new tools (such as LED and digital control), light can now easily set the atmosphere of a place by becoming more bold, more lively, colorful and fun.
But while lighting of our cities was undergoing major changes, residential lighting hasn’t evolved for quite a while (more precisely for a century as since the invention of the light-bulb nothing has really changed).
Why shall great lighting remain out of our homes? How can we get professional lighting results in our living rooms (but of course with plug&play devices)? What is the future of residential lighting?
And a shared conviction: it’s time for residential lighting to enter the digital age.
The first step of this amazing journey: to reinvent the lamp.
